Eddie Chacon returns with the title track from his upcoming album Sundown accompanied by a music video shot by Jack McKain and edited by Brandon Bloom. His new project arrives March 31st featuring production from John Carroll Kirby.

The video for “Sundown” documents the recording process at 64 Sound Studios in Northeast Los Angeles, following John and Eddie with collaborators Logan Hone (flutes and saxophones), Elizabeth Lea (trombone), Will Logan (drums) and David Leach (percussion). The song is about “being humbled by how little time we have on this earth.” At age 59, Eddie’s clarity and gratitude have come into focus after nearly two decades away from music.
Eddie found success earlier in his career as half of the duo Charles & Eddie with the 1992 single “Would I Lie to You,” a number one hit that sold 4 million records – but abandoned music a few years later to pursue a career as a photographer and creative director. It wasn’t until meeting John Carroll Kirby in 2019 that Eddie started recording music again. What resulted was 2020’s Pleasure, Joy and Happiness, an album meant to bring closure to a musical career and his decision to take the path less traveled after such meteoric success. But Eddie’s collaboration with John ultimately left him reinvigorated and inspired to continue recording. “Sundown is the follow-up I never thought I would get to make,” he says.
“Sundown” follows “Step By Step,” “Comes and Goes” and “Holy Hell”. Eddie is headed out on tour beginning March 18th in Auckland, New Zealand with stops in Australia, and Indonesia. On April 19th, Eddie and John will headline the Lodge Room in Los Angeles before Eddie’s series of shows throughout the UK and Europe.
