MF DOOM – HOE CAKES POSTER 28×28 inches
An exclusive here at the Stones Throw online ship — Jason Jagel's 2004 cover for Doom's “Hoe Cakes”, printed at 28×28 inches (71×71 cm). This is our largest poster to date.
At the request of Doom himself, San Francisco-based painter Jason Jagel and Stones Throw art director Jeff Jank created the artwork for MF DOOM's MM FOOD album in late 2004 on the Rhymesayers label. Lesser-known is the “Hoe Cakes” single, issued only on vinyl, around the same time as the album. Here we see Doom running a hoe cakes stand (you didn't know about his day job?) with his short order cook Count Bass D.
Jagel's original, untouched painting for MM FOOD has been turned into a high quality 15×13 print available at sfelectricworks.com in San Francisco, where his work is also showing December 3-23. Address: 130 8th St. SF, CA 94103
Jagel & Jeff Jank are designing the definitive reissue of Doom's Operation Doomsday, set for 2011 release through Traffic Ent.
Posters are shipped domestic and worldwide, rolled in tubes.
