Michi’s new song, “Around For Days,” marks her first release since her debut album Dirty Talk, which came out earlier this year on Stones Throw. “Around For Days” is Michi’s soulful confession to a lover and an earnest plea to meet her halfway.
The track arrives just ahead of Michi, supporting Mndsgn and Pachyman on 12 dates of their joint US tour. Dirty Talk pairs a nostalgic sound with reflections on the modern forces preventing us from truly giving and receiving love. “Around for Days”, which was recorded at Penrose Studios in Los Angeles, continues that nostalgic sound – but where Michi’s debut album saw her in the aftermath of a breakup, the new song centers on what she calls “cyclical devotion, heart on my sleeve love”.
