Michi returns with her second single “There’s No Heaven” from her debut Stones Throw album, set to release in 2025. The house track finds Michi dreaming about the ways she can get her lover back, and the lengths she’d go to do it. The accompanying video was directed by Mitch deQuilettes at a house party in the hills of Northeast L.A.
Listen: Michi – “There’s No Heaven”
Michi says: “This song feels like a burst of aqua blue, a sweaty dance floor, ice dripping down your skin, tears…” She recorded the vocals late at night in a studio in Joshua Tree. “I immediately felt like this song was one of admiring your lover at a party, on the dance floor, passing each other in the hall – so much tension and mesmerization.”
Producers Blake Rhein (of Durand Jones & the Indications) and Paul Cherry – both of whom collaborated on Michi’s first song for Stones Throw, “If You Want Me” – return here. Look out for more news of Michi’s debut album soon.
