DJ Harrison returns with a soulful cover of “IGY” from Donald Fagen’s 1982 album The Nightfly, out now on Stones Throw.

Listen to DJ Harrison – “IGY”

Harrison decided to cover “IGY”’ after opening for Donald Fagen back in 2018, and seeing the Steely Dan legend perform it live in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. He was charmed by Fagen’s live show, and quickly went away to reimagine his own version of the well known song.

Harrison recorded “IGY” at his beloved home studio, Jellowstone, where he also recorded his two Stones Throw albums, Tales from the Old Dominion and HazyMoods. Harrison plays in the funk jazz fusion outfit Butcher Brown and has collaborated with Pink Siifu, Joyce Wrice, and Kurt Elling – winning a Grammy nomination for his work on Elling’s Superblue.

Fresh off the back of his new album Solar Music with Butcher Brown, DJ Harrison will share more cover versions of some of his favorite tracks later this year.
