Automatic – the trio of Izzy Glaudini, Halle Saxon and Lola Dompé – return in a new music video for their cover of Lou Reed’s “New Sensations”. The track originally appeared on on Light In the Attic’s compilation The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed, which includes covers by Keith Richards, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Rufus Wainwright, and more.
Stream: Automatic – “New Sensations”
Each band member channels their inner Lou Reed: practicing Tai Chi, fielding reporters’ interviews, and riding a motorcycle. Koreatown Oddity even makes an appearance as Andy Warhol. Automatic says: “Cosplaying as Lou Reed for this video was the lifetime dream we didn’t know we had. It just felt right.”
Be sure to revisit Automatic’s last album released on Stones Throw in 2022, Excess. The band heads out on tour from July 16th, playing across the US with The Marías and finishing at Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle with Pavement, Courtney Barnett, Kim Gordon and more.
