Seat of the Soul is a split cassette album by Ras G & VHVL. Digital download comes with cassette in the Stones Throw shop.
In experimental mode, seven tracks go way-out from Ras, backed with one 15-minute reflective cruiser from VHVL. Young Brooklyn, NY resident VHVL (Veronica Lauren) caught the ear of Ras G on a NY studio session in 2013, inviting her to record this music guided by the "seat of the soul," the all-seeing 3rd eye pathway to divine knowledge.
Ras G is extended family of the Stones Throw crew, and he in the middle of another ongoing series of beat tapes with Leaving Records called Raw Fruit. VHVL is influenced by the "founding mothers of electronic music," and carries on the culture herself at vhvl.bandcamp.com.
