On Saturday, May 24, we dropped off one ton of PB Wolf's record collection at a store front in Los Angeles and had an open party & pop-up shop.
This was in celebration of the DVD & Blu-Ray release of Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton which is out now. We also launched this Madlib Beat Tape, and a stack of the brand new Charizma & PB Wolf box set, Circa
1990-1993, which is also out now.
For us this was mainly about getting together with people. J Rocc, Mndsgn, Rhettmatic, Babu, Dam-Funk, Tom Chasteen, Matthewdavid, Clifton from Funky Sole, Stones Throw resident DJ Tim, and Wolf himself all pulled from the record collection to spin music all afternoon and evening. Percee P did his thing on the mic. Stones Brewing Co brought us the magic words – free beer – which was appreciated, to say the least. Verve Coffee showed up with a coffee stand, which was one of the most popular things of the entire event. Most of all, we owe a big thanks to the hundreds (or thousands) of people that came through all day long, sometimes putting up with a line down the block. We hope you had a great time.
