Kiefer‘s Kiefer Trio featuring Luke Titus and Pera Krstajic returns with a new live album Something For Real, out now on Stones Throw. The first track from the project is “Cute”, originally from Kiefer’s 2019 EP Bridges.

This version was performed live from Los Angeles in April 2023. Kiefer chose not to tell his collaborators Luke and Pera that the show was being recorded, giving the performance “a spark that can only exist when the art is organic and simple.” The song joins a selection of live favorites from Kiefer’s catalog as well as a brand new track – “Something For Real.” The live album was conceived as a project without rules – “three friends playing for each other, for fun. With friends, for friends. Something for real!”

Something For Real follows last year’s It’s Ok, B U, a record that saw Kiefer return to his beat-making roots. Stay tuned for more music coming soon, including the trio performing in session for NPR’s Tiny Desk. Kiefer heads to Asia and Australia soon, too – tour dates and tickets below.
