Madlib will be making music for OUR VINYL WEIGHS A TON (THIS IS STONES THROW RECORDS), the authorized Stones Throw documentary by filmmaker Jeff Broadway. Along with new recordings from other Stones Throw artists as well as some label classics, Madlib’s tracks will appear on the soundtrack to be released with the film as part of a 2-Disc DVD/CD Collector’s Edition Box Set. The package is currently being offered on Broadway’s Kickstarter for the film in exchange for a $50 donation. Starring in the film are Peanut Butter Wolf and other prominent members of the Stones Throw family. Among other artists attached to the film are Talib Kweli, Questlove, Geoff Barrow, Earl Sweatshirt and Gaslamp Killer.
