N8NOFACE‘s Stones Throw debut album is As Of Right Now, out July 11th. The project is a change of pace for N8 – while he keeps one foot firmly in the synth-punk world, here he’s exploring his more vulnerable, tender side. The album announcement comes with a new single – “Everything We Thought We Knew”, a track “bout things that we thought we knew and later found out it was wrong, or there was more to it,” N8 says. “It’s about being lied to and being able to learn more. Not being too tied to a belief, and instead having your own ideas, because things change.”

N8’s earlier music was fueled by his addictions and the dark tales of hometown friends associated with Mexican drug cartels, but As Of Right Now is a collection of love songs. N8 explains, “Most songs I have written have come to me through things I have seen or experienced (drug tales, border life and the streets), But I have always been a fan of love, and wrote about that too. Love found in the darkest places, sometimes by the scariest people. I always bounce back and forth from heartbreak in the streets or from a lover.”
