New age composer Laraaji will give a rare live performance, with electronics and zither, on June 17 at Highland Park Ebell in Los Angeles. Also performing are Inga, and Matthewdavid's Mindflight.
Born Edward Larry Gordon, Laraaji first gained first wider notice when Brian Eno heard him playing in Washington Square Park and asked if he wanted to record an album as part of Eno's Ambient series. He went on to record a series of cosmic new age releases, situated at an intersection of drone and minimalism. These albums were reissued recently as All in One Peace by Leaving Records.
