In the store | J DILLA DONUTS (ILLUSTRATED COVER) T-SHIRT
When we began working on J Dilla's Donuts in summer of 2005, I brought Dilla a copy of Quasimoto's Further Adventures album with a hand-drawn cover. He promptly requested "some of this Quasimoto type shit" for the album of his that we would release.
When Donuts came out, early 2006, the digital/CD cover had the photo of his smile, but you don't just say no to Dilla, so the vinyl edition had this "Quasimoto type shit."
This was inspired by Randy's and Kindle's Donuts in Inglewood, and other Big Donut Drive-Ins created in the 40s and 50s. And for those that wonder, Dilla actually liked Red Vines.
