The official Stones Throw SXSW showcase was at the North Door in Austin, TX. Billed as an after-party to the final screening of Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton, the DJs – Madlib, PB Wolf, Prince Paul and Dam-Funk – appropriately came to the party with boxes of their prized 45 collection to share with the crowd. Literally, at times, Madlib was tossing records into the crowd for a lucky few … or maybe he was throwing someone else's 45s into the crowd, bad character style.
Earlier in the night Jonwayne rocked a packed house with Scoop DeVille, and the new kids Knxwledge and Pyramid Vritra made their first Stones Throw SXSW party count. Check out the recap video & photos by Jessica Rew and Marcos Velasquez.
