In the store | J DILLA – GIVE EM WHAT THEY WANT
The latest in a series of vinyl releases leading up to Dilla's lost long 2001-2002-era album The Diary.
The EP is three vocal tracks and two instrumentals. The B-side tracks were produced by Supa Dave West in Detroit, December 2001 — bootleg fans will recognize "No One's Home" from the muddy sounding leak a few years ago. "The Doe" is a previously unheard gem.
The title track is Dilla's own production, a re-work of "The Doe".
This comes on clear vinyl, released by Pay Jay Productions, an imprint of the Estate of James Yancey. Sleeve by Jeff Jank with illustration by Denise Nestor, and a photo of Jay Dee Bakery, formerly in Queens NY, by James Murray.
