This Sunday March 8th in Los Angeles, Mndsgn, Ras G, Cakedog and footwork originator RP Boo, among others, perform at 1994. This is the first of a quarterly event doubling as a zine, created by Alima Jennings.
The first issue of 1994 spotlights the Footwork and Juke movement with photo stories of Battlegroundz and Chicago-based crew, Teklife; Ras G and Koreatown Oddity in Brothers from Another Planet: 5 Chuckles Lost in the Slauson Swap Meet; a studio visit with Teebs; a Leaving Records retrospective. All artists involved with the event have made artistic contributions or are featured in the upcoming 1st issue of 1994 magazine – some images below.
