J Dilla Wild 12-inch with sleeve

12-inch single now issued with long-overdue sleeve.

Back in 2007 we were putting together our reissue of J Dilla's Ruff Draft and this previously unreleased track was found on the master tapes. It was decided - by Stones Throw, by Ma Dukes, by various Dilla associates - that this would be the perfect single to announce the album.

At the time, we were in a little bit of a rush to get the 12-inch out and didn't have time to print a sleeve - it was originally issued in a plain jacket. As our original vinyl pressing ran low, and our love for the record remained high, we decided to go back and press sleeves for the remaining stock. We did the same with the Ruff Draft Beats last year - this single took longer for reasons not quite clear.

These tracks were made by J Deezy in Dearborn MI, late 2002. Mixed and mastered by Dave Cooley & Kelly Hibbert from the original master tapes in 2007. Sleeve by Jeff Jank.
