Description: This release – a double bill inspired by the Cut Chemist/Madlib Soundclash held at The Root Down in LA in 2000 (RIP DJ Dusk) – actually came with two separate jackets. One featured Madlib on the front, one featured Cut. We’re democratic like that. Hard to say which producer won the Soundclash, or the right to the A-side of this 12”. Both producers flipped Egon’s Funky 16 Corners compilation in differing ways. Cut Chemist created a megamix a la his “Lesson 4: The Radio” and Madlib picked apart Billy Wooten’s “In The Rain” with (at least) “6 Variation…” One of Stones Throw’s best selling singles of the new millennium.
