WILDCHILD IN FEATURE FILM "SIX
NIGGAZ IN A CADILLAC" Trailer & official website: www.sixniggazinacaddilac.com
Wildchild plays Blacs, a football player. Other roles in the film are played by Tres Hartson of The Pharcyde and New York MC Oktober Zero. Oktober Zero writes in his blog at oktoberzero.blogspot.com, "'6 Niggaz In A Cadillac' is a movie for those who are culturally aware and involved. It is also a movie for those young, street brothers and sisters who need a better perspective on the language we use, how to respect ourselves, and take pride in who we are. The movie's plot is about 6 friends, all aspiring hip hop artists, who roam the town in a old school booger-green Cadillac and encounter situations that make the six realize that the words we use can either empower us, or make us stereotypical in the eyes of society." Directory Michael Murphy met with resistance from members of the Middlesex County NAACP and Middletown Arts Commission regarding the title of the film which, they say, flirts with controversy to garner attention. Murphy argued that the movie was trying to strip the word of its power, to subtract insult and pain from the word. His film, he said, was less exploitative and more positive than typical black-targeted Hollywood entertainment. "There are no gangbangers with guns in this movie," he said. Also see:
