Maybe I'm in the minority... I just felt they took everything people liked about the first season and exaggerated it way to much, whilst also abandoning - not all - but most of the character side plots. It was basically the kevin spacey, monologue show. They jumped on that horse and rode it to death in my opinion. Season 3 they reined it back in... I think due to a lot of criticism it received for those reasons. But if season 4 continues in the vein of 3, I'll be happy :)

Louie was amazing. Haven't laughed that much in 20 minutes worth of tv in a while...

i'm excited to see where this season goes.  last season ended with what i thought was a teaser for the main overarching theme this time around, when Pamela Adlon's character convinced Louie that he could get his own TV show like Marc Maron was bragging about at the Cellar.

tbh i'm starting to get bummed because Louie keeps taking all the ideas i want to do for my films and making them much better than i could ever do -- but on the flip-side, i would love to see his take on the "show-within-a-show" concept.

New ep. of Louie is the first one I've watched. I laughed a lot. I got Curb Your Enthusiasm vibes even though I've only seen a few episodes of that show.

just watched his most recent special Oh My God from like 2013...and it's hilarious.

his bit about dead pets is brilliant -- really inspiring stuff for young comedians trying to think outside the box in terms of structuring material.

I think his stand up is awesome, but only watched the very first episodes of Louie, does it get better after that?

Justified (could b an all time great), Suits, House of Cards, The Americans (is an all timer), American Crime. gotham is pretty strong, although i don't get jada pinketts presence on the show.

i would say he is very consistent in terms of humor...he doesn't phone things in ever, and he knows the danger of over-saturating his audience.  but yeah, did you see the weed episode in season one?  or the religion one?  you might be missing out on some great TV, man...

Louie's great. New episode was hilarious. I started watching silicon valley last year to see what's up (I'm from San Jose) it ended up being hilarious, and I'm super excited for season two tonight

this week's one was amazing...

every segment was a 5/5; from the pants-shitting, to the open mic, to the scene with Pamela...

i mean for fuck's sake, they actually showed a waitress grating mozzarella on someone's tits -- that deserves an Emmy if you ask me.

also, on a completely unrelated note, that show The Comedians is really disappointing...i thought the concept had loads of potential, but it seems like they just wanted to do a slightly dirtier The Office meets a slightly cleaner Larry Sanders.  fucking boo!

I don't care who's making it, IMO sitcoms are terrible and people that like them are terrible

did you ever watch Lucky Louie on HBO?

it's a weird show...but it's really the only sitcom in the past 20 years that actually filmed in front of a live studio audience.

the reason you don't like sitcoms is because they've devolved into a very formulaic, boring genre of television.

they (used to) shoot on film, on-location, in real sets with no audience interaction whatsoever.

they literally just bring in a "laugh guy" who splices in canned laughter from the same bullshit sound library everyone in the business uses, and it leads to this unnatural, shitty product where the laughs seem to be way too short, frequent, and lack all the dynamics that having a real audience solves.

Louis CK's show was purposefully bare-bones and old-school style, and the main inspiration was The Honeymooners and golden-age era television.  back in the day, Jackie Gleason used to just get blitzed and show up on-set during taping not knowing half of his lines or what the blocking was in the shot -- and it made for amazing tv, because there was a genuine spontaneity to the way he would just overcome the immense pressure on him to make comedy gold out of nothing.  Louie's show didn't quite go that far in terms of improvisation, but the tone is definitely much more brave and genuine than literally any other sitcom i've watched growing up ever; even more-so than Fresh Prince.  i think sitcoms are the hardest thing to pull off on television, but potentially the most rewarding if someone can manage to figure out how the fuck to do it right.

Hmm couldn't tell you to be honest. I've seen that floating around but haven't heard of a link between the two. Can tell you straight up the series is worth your attention though!

As for daredevil I thought it was meh. 5/10 for me. The acting was rubbish besides the main guy and the the head boss/bad guy was O.K. Everybody else (besides the banging Hispanic chick) gave me some cringey moments (especially the head japanese dude, I laughed pretty hard everytime I saw his "stone cold" serious face). Also the fighting scenes were overly choreographed to the point dudes were throwing their heads back before the punches even hit them. My wife watched the whole series cause she liked the main actor but I kind of just zoned in and out while watching other shit and making beats... If it can't hold my attention even when I want it to then it ain't for me maybe. I dunno, just felt way overdone in my opinion... Like a poor mans batman begins.

The jinx errybody. If you're in to true crime at all then it's a must watch. It's only a 6 part mini series, I smashed it in one day.
