it's amazingly well-done, i think it rivals the film if not surpasses it...and that's saying quite a lot considering the film's in the National Registry.

It's one of my favorites that's still running. I wonder if it's going to run for a while or a short time?

In 2 Seasons Hannibal has become an all-time great.

Justified is also up there.

last season of Sons of anarchy is coming and it should be a bloodbath.

mini-series, only 3 episodes left.  i'm starting to prefer this new breed of cinematic television over actual films, because it gives characters time to develop and stories time to breathe and progress at a pace that you just couldn't do with a film.  it's like watching a 10 hour film in snippets, or in Breaking Bad's case a 62 hour film.  not sure about SOA or Hannibal, but i may have to check those out.

I've always said The Wire is actually best thought of as a 92 hour long movie.

Aaron Sorkin has even talked about the fact that television is a much better medium for the development of a character.

My only problem is I have to wait for shows to be completely over for at least a season because I'm a binger. Netflix hit the nail I the head by releasing ale tire season at once a la House of Cards and Arrested. Essentially, they've determined viewers look at seasons as albums and individual shows as tracks on that album.

There's a latino station its like si! Tv or something they show old episodes. Words cant express how awesome that show was. And the music and musical guest. I remember being like are they playing Lords of the Underground??

I was more excited about the music Eddie and JC would be running too than the episode haha

That ish was dope; that Puerto Rican actor who sucked a few too many dicks in Hollywood and the least known host of Rap City.

I loved the odd musical placement in the show. That shit was eerily strange and I have to admit I was drawn to it....

Nice topic...

This show is good? Colin Hanks is in it, I like him. How do they do the show tho, I mean, is it at all relate to the movie, a real life story.

the original wasn't a real story, and neither is this one-- that disclaimer at the beginning is an inside joke from the Coen brothers lol.  but yeah, i think the fact that this operates as virtually a ten-hour film means that a whole shitload of developments and story arcs can crisscross over each other and lead to richer stories...and yes, the show is insanely good.  probably the best thing to hit TV since Breaking Bad ended, it's that good.  none of the original story relates to or is even mentioned in this version (besides the briefcase of money), it's an all new story with all new characters in all new situations that every once in a while give a subtle wink to the film.

very well written, well produced, well acted, well directed...Billy Bob Thornton plays a great psychopath, Martin Freeman made an incredible transformation for this role, Colin Hanks is showing off his actor's chops...it's just all around a great show.  and i have one of the most jaded tastes out there after years of film school and hating television, so it really takes a lot to impress me like this series has.

Very well said. TV, at least some, is getting better than movies. Because how you said a movie over 10 hours. I am excited for next week. The preview of Billy Bob's character made me want to watch it now. And the dude from UK's office is great in this.

I've been wanting to peep some games but have never been a soccer fan. Kinda want to go to the English pub down the block and watch games and drink to see what the hype is all about.

so get this...the finale's on, this world premiere on FX, and i'm sitting there watching an hour of lead-up and rising tension with all of these past episodes culminating in the final third act of this one.  the most tense, dramatic scene that's aired thus far finally begins, and what happens?

the fucking FCC decides to run the required weekly EAS test...right over the very moment that changed gears in the show and let the audiences know that from here on out, it's nothing but payoff.  so the stupid piece of shit is completely taking over my cable box and beeping saying that it's only checking the beep to make sure it works, and by the time i come back to the show so much has passed that i have to turn it off...i had no fucking clue what was going on anymore, and continuing to watch would just be unnecessary spoiling for me.

so yeah, thanks a fucking lot FCC; you guys really know when to run your tests...like during the top-rated show of 2014's epic climax.  yeah, that's great--perfect timing.  now i'm gonna have to watch it on demand tomorrow night at the very earliest.

Space Dandy will do for the time being though.

Boondocks Season 4 is really not very funny. Or is it just me?

yeah, so i finally watched that Fargo finale...man, that was a good show.  that's the mark of a really good show too, feeling satisfied even though lots of questions remain unanswered.

i'm debating whether or not i should do a video about it on one of my YouTube accounts, because now that i've gone through it all multiple times i'm starting to pick up overarching themes and choices they made during production that permeate throughout the entire show.  needless to say, it's fucking brilliant.  Keegan Michael Key's character, especially in the last episode, is one of the most thought-provoking, well-written people i've ever seen in a movie/show...and definitely among the very short list of self-aware fictional characters.  there's really just too much to say about it as a whole on just a random message board-- but to sum it all up, it's deserving of every award it gets and then some.  although i do think Martin Freeman should've won Best Actor over Billy Bob Thornton with the Critic's Choice Awards...but i guess it's all the same.
