props for putting that shit on the bottom. The album had about 3 useful tracks on it, rest was trash, dunno why people hype the album up so much. But I agree with your ranking.

I think DangerDoom should actually get more love.

The beats are out there, really out there, but that only makes the album that much more refreshing. Additionally, the guests are employed well and really give a strong effort. Starks' verse in ''The Mask'' is sizzling, Talib Kweli does a nice job on the verse and hook in ''Old School,'' and C-Lo's voice really complements the beat on ''Benzie Box.'' The only problem is DOOM's emceein' -- it's average for his standards.

rather the opposite, actually. The beats were too stiff and whatnot for Doom to properly flow over, so he had to change up his shit, causing the album to sound awkward, most of the time.

which is why I think it was a bad collaboration, for the most part.

For me it goes

1. Operation DOOMsday
2. Madvillainy
T-3: MM...Food/Dangerdoom

I never understand the hate towards DD. It was a nice change of pace to hear DOOM over some Mouse beats just because it sounded so different than anything he's done before, and while the partnership isn't exactly Madvillain-level with the chemistry that Madlib and DOOM have it still works wonders for me.

It's a very close tie between Madvillainy and Take Me To Your Leader.

Agreed. I love every track, even the skits (and I've watched very few A.S. shows). I wasn't expecting it to be mind blowing after hearing Mince Meat leak so in the end I ended up enjoying it thoroughly. As with all DOOM releases, after many listens I find myself grasping lines I didn't catch before, I think that's one of the many things DOOM has going for him. But his antics over the last year has me worried though.

operation DOOMSday hands down...
it's witty & grimey at the same time....
its hella lo-fi and dirty sounding.
DOOM kills with the wordplay-so many quotables...
last but not least the production
is just gutter. I mean the samples he
chose fit the whole DIY mentality on the
album...it's one of my favorite records
period & has been getting serious play
since the 2001 subverse reissue came out...
plus he flips scooby doo...i mean come on...

i wanted to vote for Vaudeville!!!!

LOL

I did the same thing. I'm so asleep this morning.

Vaudeville wins by a nose. Madvillain a close second.

I'm a massive fan of Doom but I've never quite got my head around why so many people love Operation Doomsday. It's got some classics but as an overall album it's lacking cos some of the beats are really wack. Maybe you had to be there at the time.

They played Danger Doom at the grocery store the other day, can't remember which on it was though.
