Ok so I won,

Here is my sample.

it is the only one.

chop it loop it whatever.

you can add drums and thats it.

you can ad other samples for scratches, ambience ie. voices, air, wind, background city noise what have you.

Other than that,
its the usual,
post between midnight Thursday-midnight Friday.

and thats it,
good luck.

oh no,

bass and synths ae allowed.

I was just thinking no huge chordal synths on top as the sample is pretty good for notes.

bUt yah you can use synth patches if you feel it really helps the song.

im kinda loose on these things.

My biggest worry is that every mofo is gonna sample those intro bells and give me a headache...lmao. I'm up for it though it's different than the usual sample so should be fun...I'm going through my archive of ambient city noise right now...lol...

I think thats lame to say you wont sample another hip hop group.

wtf you think primo does?

besides is this a hip hop song?

Sorry but i just thinks thats straight lame to limit your sample sources, just because of who they are.

you know how many drums I've pulled, how many little sounds off of hip hop records?
tons, if I limited my self to obscure jazz, id be just that, obscure jazz.

Indeed. If it makes noise, then it's a candidate to get flipped and chopped up.

I have a feeling this thread won't be lonely much longer JINESIS.

i would have to think a majority of producers probably consider sampling hip hop off limits...i am in that camp. but i'm not concerned about sampling this track it's hardly hip hop.

sampling a hip hop track,
using a just straight up loop is wack aka off limits,

but for me thats pretty much off limits for all music.

its just how i roll.

there already has been a tiring thread on this but there is difference between primo using vocal cuts to make a hook and straight sampling from another producers beat

but do yours!

Did you win last week?

HIP HOP HAS VERY FEW RULES & MORALS

Next you are going to say that Punk Rock has very few power chords...

Really? Cuz it seems to me that hip hop has a huge variation of rules and ethics, depending on who you talk to. Like Shakey said, it would be a tiring topic and not something I would get into with you anyway...not even worth it. But yeah do your thing i don't give a shit. You just sound kind of stupid when you say HIP HOP HAS VERY FEW RULES & MORALS.

Maybe I'm just getting old...
