^^I was constantly playing that last week. That site has great mixes, but Kankick's mix is great in particular. The beats he plays for like the last half of it are fucking great. I wonder if they'll ever get released. And his freestyle at the end is funny, it lasts for like three minutes or something...he should rap more, 'cause he can.

been thinkin this for years, whenever i speak to someone about madlib or dilla and then bring up kan i am shocked when they dont know who he is, i have thought of them on the same level for ages (the best of the best underground beatmakers still doing it). sayin that he aint exactly on the corner hustlin mixtapes, i think he wants to stay out of the fame side of things. seems to be very "passionate" about the state of music and the world, i get the impression he wants to keep his distance (i get this impression from reading his blogs on myspace, one of which mentions a new album in late feb, cant wait!! http://www.myspace.c...anzuluxperience).

i remeber buying Kanzulu & Declaime 12" called "government" produced by Kankick, i hadent heard Kankick before that i had only heard Declaimes few tracks and i based my purchse upon it

i put the needle down to the records and fell in love completely, i thought to myself that how could someone do something like that and make it sound so fucking fresh, fucking love it, it was a good accidental buy no doubt

without that record my own production style wouldnt be what it is

simple & brilliant.

listen that b-side of dj babu's 99 tape called "comprehension". it's a mix of some of his beats.premium shit right there
Kanzookie is one of the illest forreal. he has some of the grooviest/soulfullest beats I've ever heard. to me he's up there with Madlib. definetely.
some of my fav beats from him: xtraterrestrial travellin'(traditional heritage), tribute to 45 king(seeing spirits), rug enlists (comprehension), soul (I owe) (comprehension), worn master tapes (acid massive musical) , f.l.s (do you like it) (traditional heritage), never ending (from the declaime 12''), deleting programs+kanstrumental 4+kanstrumental 5 (from artz unknown), plus mad others I don't even know if they got a name

about that album and the seeing spirits album.

In all means im not trying to stir up lame drama blahblahfuckinblah.

In traditional heritage, i cant remember what song but its within the first 5 secs of the track, you hear "people under the stairs" sampled.

In seeing spirits near the end kankick said fuck kk and i was confused.

its all about:

-Sun soul

-In space, in love

-daddy long loops

-worn master tapes

-bread and rolls royce ´99

EDIT: sorry for the stupid fuzz, i thought i really had some unreleased Kankick ish but apparently (after checking from Google) these "unreleased kanstrumental 7 1 ..." were from the Arts Unknown album and theyre not really unreleased beats, for somereason the dude that i downloaded these from few years ago had changed the track names to unreleased blah blah...

what you mean by "better" ? you like his beats more ? personnally I love them both. Madlib is surely more adventurous with the music he takes his samples from and he also has The Unseen and Madvillainy which are masterpieces to me at least production-wise. I don't see an album in Kankick's catalog that can compete. (a more fair comparison would be against A lil light, Expressions 2012 A.U. or Soundpieces da antidote) but I know he's able to lace one of that caliber without a doubt - that's why I said he's up there with him. Potentially-wise he is.

I love them both too but in turns of just weird little instrumental tracks Kankick takes it. I'de just rather listen to Acid Massive then some of the Beat Konductas. Madlib still kills alot of tracks way more for rappers

My favorite track would probably be, PAIN, RAIN:MISERY, what a nice beat, IF YOU havent heard this its on a 10" from RawWax, called KANZULU ft. Mystery's Extinction.

Its more a clean beat of his, but I really like his really hissy, hazzy, cracling type shit. hes got plenty of those.

I dont think his myspace is back up, BUT I used to check Kankick myspace page every week to record the streams:

GOT approx 40 beats off of there, and about 3 beat cds, unreleased of course.

I HATE to say I downloaded all this shit, but then again Kankick's main flaw is that he hardly releases shit. By The WAY, I have all his hard to find stuff, mixes, (Gods gift Incisions 2 x12") most his rawwax shit, all his ACTUAL retail beat cds.

Only thing Im missing is that 7in with rawwaw the A.F.R.O 7 in, EVERY BEAT ON TYHAT SHIT IS FIRE.!!!!!!

Yeah but I cant wait for that new album, gonna be fire,

ANYBODY know if its gonna be on vinyl????????????

the BTS mix is nice. Kanthrax's music is extra slick. Underrated and slept on to some but still a beast.
Looking forward to the new material.
