Don't get me wrong, I think Madlib may be one of the best producers of this generation...but after hearing Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms, I'm feeling Oh No a LOT.

I never really liked The Disrupt that much, just couldn't get into it....
....and I fell in love with Quas the second I heard it...
....but Oh No really stepped up his game on this one, and all from one source...

'Lib did this with Shades Of Blue, but it wasn't like THIS. I would love to hear Mad make an album w/ samples from one source (not counting Peebles soundbites)...

I still think Madlib's the better producer, but Oh No has more all-around appeal....

i just cant call it. all i know is that iv been into madlib longer, but oh is so so good also, Plus probably better lyrically. but then madlib has a unique appeal on the mic, so once again i cant call it.

it's not even close..... "the disrupt" was dead boring and "exodus..." is just alright. on no's track on chrome children is pretty ace though.

I think Oh No is So So, but Madlib is the shit. Yeah Oh No did pretty good with sampling from one source, but for real I can only bring myself to listen to one song on there. I'm sure he's a cool dude, but Madlib keeps me more interested.

I won't diss, don't deserve that, but yeah, cmon now...

I like Oh No's shit too, but

Lootpack
Madvillain
Jaylib
Quasimoto (tho it may be too out there for some, but cmon) - 2 ILL ALBUMS
Dudley Perkins - 2 BRILLIANT ALBUMS

some realistic recognition is in order here.. Madlib deserves way more credit than this topic gives him. and the range displayed with all of these speaks to your question in spades...

and I thought The Disrupt was DOPE, for the record..

EDIT: for fuck's sake, I forgot about MED, DJ Rels.. not to mention YNQ, all the various remixes and other tracks.. it's no comparison at this point.

once oh no makes like 19 or 20 more recordings, then we can make a balanced decision.

oh no did surprise me with exodus, though. that cd is awesome, the production is amazing -- but can oh no be as consistent as madlib? i guess only time can tell

I like Madlib better. Madlib can bring different styles to the table while brother oh no sticks to HIP HOP Instrumetals. Oh no is a better M.C., his voice may be a bit to raspy, but still, he can throw punchlines for days. Too make a long story short, MADLIB is nice while OHno is still at his craft. :(

I just picked up "Exodus" and I love the shit out of it (also like "Disrupt"). Oh No is very talented and I love what he's done, but holy shit this is a stupid debate. It isn't even a diss when I say he is far from his older bro. He is nicer on the mic though.
