All I said is that I wasn't feelin' Champion Sound, The Shining, or Jay Love Japan that much. And that is compared to Donuts, His work with Tribe, Slum, Q tip, Phife, Etc. I happen to like those works better then all the other stuff previously mentioned. And it just seems like everybody is riding the dilz on all his stuff with Stones Throw for some reason.

"all" his stuff on ST is Donuts and Champion Sound. ST has nothin to do with Shining or JLJ. come on dude

isnt that a bit of a hypocritical statement, if fat jon had got zero publicity YOU wuldnt know about him. not that how high that someones rated is much do to with how famous they are.
fat jons got nothing on dilla. dilla has pretty much redesigned hip hop, getting little credit for alot of his work e.g tribe called quest. hundreds of thousands of people are listening to dilla and dont even know it. even justin timberlake and pharrel are tryin to get a piece of his style.

Nowadays you need to be dead if you wanna people to talk 'bout you or what you did.
And that's sad.

It's almost like painters.
During their life they underground cat's,soon as they die ,mainstream people are like "damn, he was a genius...."
Stop doing that, if people got talent don't wait for them to die before blessing them.
We never heard so much 'bout dilla since he died, don't get it confuse, i think he was a great producer and mc, but i think that he deserved that during is life time.

Ain't no overrated,....there's project you like more and some you don't like,....,sometime you need time to appreciate some stuff ('cause cat's like dilla are way ahead)............ fuck the hype.

J.dilla rest in peace.

its a shame people have to die to get the recognition they deserve. i havent had a chance to hear all of the shining, donuts is a classic though.. i think its more the fact that all that work he had done and now hes gone, i loved labcabincalifornia and didnt find out till recent that he had worked on it. he did alot of amazing things, of corse you cant please everyone. but i thought he was amazing..

"Dilla showed his true passion for music by completing his last album, Donuts, from his hospital bed. He reportedly worked nearly constantly, breaking only when the process became too painful. He finished most of the album in September 2005."

not trying to get off point but i thought it was worth a mention..
