I have Bill Collector as last weeks battle winner.
The new rule with the sample is that it should be posted by 3PM and if not the runner up (django) will be able to post up a sample. Sounds pretty legit to me
I feel kind of wrong because I know this is BigErn's job but the show must go on!
Let's get something going!

Ern'd be proud of you B) B)

Thank you! Feeling a lot better today..

I'm sticking with this soul thing I started on, hope a lot of people will like these.

The first one, O.V. Wright - We're Still Together is a bit uptempo, and that always so easy to work with, so to balance it out I added Al Jarreau - We're in This Love Together

Have fun

man i cant understand wtf is up with you guys on the board, you NEVER come up with no good samples, its always a cheesy 80s sounding loop with a loud snare underneath it, i mean, its NEVER solo instruments, and the first "uptempo" track, it has, strings, bass, drums, everything through the whole song, how are you supposed to give a track like that a personal touch? gooood, im out. ive been trying to join your beat contests for a while but seems like i cant handle your samples, anyways. if someone wanna check my beats here it is: www.myspace.com/fredfades ..
sorry.

Lol, sorry about that, it's just that me and probably a few others got bored of these experimental free jazz type songs, and just tried changing it up a little.
But since nobody has started yet, I'll look for something else..

It's supposed to be a challenge.
Solo instruments wouldmake it easier to certain extents, you know?
You should join anyways, do a little something even if it's chopping one sound

You be the judge, I got off my ass and ripped these two tracks just for fred..
The second one has three annoying "pops", but I don't think that should be a problem..

I think samples don't have to be "perfect" and clean, but I get what he's saying with the personal touch thing.
I sent him a PM about the new samples, so let's just see if he comes back.

Not many people are up yet, so there's plenty of time to decide which ones to be used.

I'm fine with it, as long as it's not a synth-song with hints of sampling to it
So just go ahead and add bass, some lead or whatever..

I like RJ (or at least used to) but I'm not really sure about that one..I think he pitched it wrong and used a kick and snare that doesn't really go well with it :/
But it's a pretty good song anyway..
