It's all good...but I think next time we have a tie, each winner should post one sample...since the whole two-sample thing is cool now.

Hahaha...I think if we're gonna have people rappin on tracks, that should probably be a seperate battle...just because the beat should be the focus of this battle, and full-on vocals can distract from that...

my thoughts exactly! vox on the intro or outro fine, same with synths as far as im concerned as long as the focus is not taken off the beats and what has been done with the sample its aaalllllll gooood!

Although to be honest, if someone wanted to do a version of their battle beat with vocals just for the funk of it, that'd be cool with me. As long as it's an instrumental that we're voting on...

Yea but I would suggest not posting it in the same thread as the battle thread....sometimes that gets confusing.

yeah i hear what you guys are sying...

but, what i was thinking that if we could ad vocals it would be more of a song competition
in other words we would be creating more of a complete song than just a beat.

either way is cool, but it would be cool to have that as an option,
so you can do either or...

you know, just make ur piece more powerful,

It's a cool idea, but that goes beyond production and beat making into something completely different. A lot of producers do production because they suck at rapping & singing...I know I sure do! lol

I thought about it some more, and I think the furthest I think we should go as far as recording vocals for our tracks would be to do something for the hook. Nothing that takes the track beyond a traditional instrumental. Sometimes you'll hear bits of the hook vocals on an instrumental, so I think that'd be fine...but no verses...

whatever man,
i just thought it would be cool
because as far as im concerned
i think producing involves selecting who sounds best upon any particular beat
so to me, voice, flow, content all matter

however, that might get a little too complex.
i didnt think it was required but it would be cool

just cause some guys rapping on a track doesnt make it better
in fact it could be worse
so right there its up to the producers descretion
to figure out if it needs vocals and if he can find the right raqpper.

just saying.

I finished mines earlier this morning.
I'll probably end up making another one though. After making the beat I skimmed through the rest of the sample tracks and had 30945873450983 more idea's, you know?
Sometimes I just make my beats off of the first shit I hear without playing the whole shit through
