Well heres the thread. I guess whomever posts the new sample first...Or we can just figure out a way to sort this out.

RULES

1. Use the sample provided, drums and synth (only if allowed by the sample poster)
OR (For remix purposes) Use the acapella provided and you can use any beat you want.

2. No songs in pass the deadline.
.........

3. DO NOT submit your entry until the day of the deadline.
Friday the 13th() @ 12am - 11:59pm.
Voting starts Saturday the 14th @ 12am
until Sunday the 15th @ 12am.

4. Winner picks the original song for the next round.
Or He/She can pass the pick to someone else.

Sufjan Stevens
Casmir Pulaski Day

its not the original i had wanted to do a while back, but went right before it in my last mix tape.
lots of chop worthy samples in this puppy, I'll be eager to hear what cats do with it.

Also, does anyone else think jazzurs suggestion on voting would be a good idea? Like, you have three votes, 3 points, 2 points and 1.
Of course, to make it easier to count people would have to write it neatly like this:

Mr Villain - 3
Rappcat45 - 2
DJ Drop it like it's hot - 1

And either keep feedback, why you voted the way you did etc in the non-voting thread or something like that..

I don't know, could be something?

that seems like a cool iddea,

it would defn create a sure winner.

most likely.

And synths are cool if you want but the sample should be prominent in the track.

yah ther eis still a chance im sure,

but it certaqinly drops the possibility of a tie down a lot.

should be good, i say we give it a go.

itll give us a waayyy better picture of what people actually liked.

I feel that...and I'm willing to try anything. I was just thinking what if it's like

Voter 1 gives:
Dude A - 1
Dude B - 3
Dude C - 2

Thats just the same as saying "I vote for Dude A but Dude B and C had dope beats too"

Voter 2 gives:
Dude A - 1
Dude B - 2
Dude C - 3

And thats just like Voter 2 Saying "I vote for Dude A but Dude B was a close second and
Dude C, I liked your too"

You still have a tie. It seems like you can do the same thing with the way it's going but instead of throwing
two other names out there when we vote....we're just giving the people we didn't vote for feedback. If you
guys want to try it then I'm down....but I just don't want to complicate anything.

It seems like it would be better to give the beats a 1-5 rating with five being the highest....then you could just
add all the points, but then again....voters would have to type ALL the names of the competitors and then at the
end, I'd have to add up all those points. Not saying I'm not dedicated but man...that would be a little rough if you
have a lot of people entering.

yeah i agree with ern, it would be a little complicated...isn't there a poll feature on this thing. well, never mind, you would have no way of knowing if someone voted more than once. let's just leave it the way it is. we were bound to have a tie sooner or later.

yah but its cool,
cause the likeyhood that each voter will pick the same combination of dudes is rare,

so i doubt we will have a tie, and if so, we still get a good break down of what was liked.

i think it'll work.

Yea but it's not "the same combination of dudes" I'm worried about...it's the first place dude.
you can have any combo of dudes but it's the first place guy that matters. 2nd and 3rd is
just a way of saying..."Yea I liked you too but you weren't good enough to be 1st"

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding.

no no, what your saying makes sense,,,

but what if dude A GETS 3 first place vots and 3 seconds,

while dude B gets 3 first place votes too, but he only gets one second.

right there, dude a wins...

so while ties can still happens it lowers the possibilities of.

Oh ok I understands that...

It just still seems mad extra to me....and on my end, more work to count not only the 1sts, but the 2nds and 3rds. Is this one 5 way tie worth changing all this? We don't have THAT many ties I didn't think but we can test it out. Post what you think the official rules for voting should be, we'll all look it over then I'll put it in the next voting thread.....deal?

yah man cool,

I really dont care either way,
but it would be cool to see it like this...

I know what you mean, counting all those votes could be a bitch.

I tell you what, we'll do it like this for this one, just to get a feel for it, but Ill count the votes.

Cool?

ok so...

the rules are...

1. synths are cool, other samples (vocal snippets, what have u), drums...
however, the sample given has to be prominent in the mix.

2. voting , we are going to switch it up a bit,
just to make it more interesting.

Instead of each voter getting one vote to his or her favourite (uhh, mainly his im guessing)
. we will each get 3 votes.

1. vote for your favorite - 3pts
2. vote for your second - 2pts
3. vote for your third - 1pt.

so dont forget to state clearly when voting who your top 3 are and in what order.

thats about it, if you have any questions, or you think of anything, please let me know.

Gracias...I'll probably just do somethin' to fuck around with the sample. My new 4 year old nephew was over this afternoon and I had him record some of his singing to a beat he made on Fruity Loops...I might try to mix the singing into my entry...we'll see what ends up happening...
