my vote is for quasquasquas, this beat was sick and the best use of the sax sample!

Im gonna have to vote for quasquasquas too, his seemed to make most sense as a track i suppose.

Well done to everyone else who played though, good turnout, i thought id say abit about the other tracks, i hope i dont offend anyone and remember its only my opinion and i have no bias towards anybody on the board.

SubBass49: like the bush speech at the start ha, although the detuned chord seemed to grate after a while, nice recording quality though.
Doot: you posted early, the beat is muffled and generic sounding.
Godzilla: punchy kick drum, good use of the sample, not bad.
Pencilface: again, good use of sample, break is a little average sounding, but i think you just use a 303 so its quite an achievement.
Andt88: beat was abit sleepy, and samples were clashing a little on top of one another.
Sanka: nice use of sample, well spaced out, abit short on the beat department though.
Ason Unique: ok use of sample, beat sounds like impeach the president chopped up, varied change, good effort.
Josh G: ok use of sample, i dig the beat although it sounds a little quiet against the sample.
DJ Bosco: catchy melody over the top, although abit general midi sounding, beat abit too soft.
Tone: pretty good, some nice sample chops, although i personally would have used less of the double snare.
Outlier: good use of the sample, changed the atmoshere slightly, nice pace.

i vote for godzilla because of that snare. didn't like the entries this time. mine was a piece of shit. but i think the sample was too depressive anyway.

I'm going with Josh G... i liked the kick & snare pattern work on your track. could have been a little higher in the mix. some others i liked, quasX3, gozdilla, pencilface.

well, its a draw then, quasquasquas, you can choose the original.

well done to all other folks.

i apologise for my choice of sample in that round, it wasnt the best, i just chucked anything quickly and thought it would be better than the last few, so to andt88 shut your whinging up, i didnt hear you complaining at triumvirat or whatever that shite was in the other round.

ok then quas i hope you got something good to sample.....

Thanks for the tips & critique. I wasn't a big fan of that detuned bass chord either. I have REALLY CRAPPY bass samples to work from and it kinda irritates me. I would go in with my fretless acoustic and do live bass if I had more time, but for now I've gotta stick with wav samples & stuff. The one I used in that track sounded off-key no matter how I tweaked it. Any advice or good bass samples you want to share would be much appreciated though...

Peace.

No worries jb, yep ive always got samples to share, but its one of those things thats so down to personal taste, the type of thing i like might not be everybody's cup of tea, but to be honest with you ive been mostly using that zipfile that somebody posted on here a couple weeks back, it was full of drum hits, standard stuff, but very useable, id put the link up but i dont know where it is....i think it was in a post called 'drums'.

And qak, thanks man. thanks for listening and the vote, although the voting ended on sunday ha!, get yourself in this round indeed....post your song anytime friday up till saturday morning.....voting starts saturday ends sunday.
