The Stylistics' "People Make The World Go Round" opened Crooklyn
but i think Madlib used Michael Jackson's version(?)

thanks for that

Starting @ -3:00 mins. left to go in the podacast, the final 3 minutes of the Motown podcast is blank or empty space. Is this the same for everyone else?!? Or, is my download corrupt for the final 3 mins.? My
Motown podcast total time is listed at 1hour04minutes02seconds? Can any of you confirm either?

Yeah, I just noticed mine's silent at the end, too. But it doesn't seem like anything was cut off since it fades-out to the silence.

Downloaded that Madlib motown podcast joint a few days ago and have been stuck on the third song in (comes in at about 1:32). The lyrics go "circles/ you got me going in circles/ spinning/ round and round." The lead vocalist's falsetto lead me to believe it was The Miracles (or The Dramatics, but they weren't on Motown). But I can't find anything by The Miracles with a song title that included either "circles" or "spinning." Anybody know for sure the name of the group and the song?

This is a dope mix alright... One of the best - along with Madlib's 45's

Love the podcasts, and love to spend The $ on the latest ST releases when you get this quality for free.

Don't think we're gonna get a tracklist though...

Man i want the track that comes in at 1:32 badly as well... 'Going in Circles' ? (lots of covers of this), but i can't find a Motown/Tamla artist that does this track either...

a couple more:

7:30 - Sing a Simple Song - Diana Ross & The Supremes & The Temptations (Together) the break comes in at a bit after 2minutes...
then straight into
8:10 - Sing a Simple Song - I think this is the Sly version - but they all start off pretty similarly

9:45 - People Make The World Go Round - MJ (Ben 1972). Definitely the MJ version as lib said. There's so many versions of this track. Another madlib/ST mix has the Stylistics version on it (???Mind Fusion 4 - can't remember)

16:06 - Brother Louie - The Undisputed Truth (1974)

Anyone else have any more to add? Surely this list can get much bigger.
There are so many recognisable, but i can't think of anymore off the top of my head. Haven;t listened to it much.

And the end 3 minutes? maybe one too many blunts were smoked and someone forgot to hit 'stop' ?

PS tracklist please. We promise to buy Champion Sound re-release if you up it ST.

a couple more...

the very 1st track - i believe is Martha Reeve's cover of "Anyone Who Had A Heart"

and the 2 tracks after MJ's "People Make The World Go Round" are:
The Temptations - Runaway Child, Running Wild
Tammi Terrell - Come On And See Me

and the track after "Brother Louie" is:
Willie Hutch - Sunshine Lady

Also at the 47:45 mark, I really like that song. Anyone know who that is? It's not on the SoulStrut list. "Hey lady dont change your love, I like everything you do..."

Also, I cant find that Supremes song at the 29:45 mark, "Its Time to Break It Down". Is that really the title?

It's called "Don't Change Your Love" by Willie Hutch from the 'Color Her Sunshine' album. One of the best cuts on that album ;-)
Now could someone do me the honor of identifying the track that comes in at 1:32?

Nope. This has been driving me crazy since I heard it. Turns out I actually had the track the whole time...

The Miracles - I Don't Need No Reason.

It's off Renaissance (1973) and the particular break comes in about halfway through (around 1min mark).

Shit yeah. That's gonna get some mad rotation.

Thanks, my dude! I knew it was Billy Griffin's falsetto! I'll go check it out soon. BTW...Jr. Walker also did a cut called "I Don't Need No Reason" on Motown's sub label Soul in 1973. Could this be a rendition of the same cut?

THIS MIX IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!

It is ill as ever but every three seconds I am thinking to myself what sample is that?? who used that????? what????? huh????? it's like an overwhelming amount of breaks, if that even exists. but you know when you hear a break and you don't know who used it but it's on the tips of your brain?

WELL DONE MADLIB, although I might end up in a hospital soon.

I've probably listened to this mix about 40-50 times.

I have that Supremes record (It's Time to Break Down) as well, with the Premo break.

No one knows that sick break near the 34-minute mark before the Jackson 5?
