What up StonesThrow fam! RADIcule here. I haven't really posted much in the "Talk" section and it's been a while since I threw out a topic in general. But I wanted to ask you guys something in regards to psychedelia.

I'm sure there's a thread regarding things like shrooms and lsd, but I was too lazy to find it lol. Anyway, I wanted to know if you guys had any particular songs or albums that resonated with you while trippin' or even when you were high?

For me, it was these two songs that really brought me to the brink.

Share if you want to! :D I'd love to hear some stories.

these songs are decent. pretty standard stuff, tho

and im not sure if the songs themselves brought me to "the brink" but they have definitely shown me an illumination in music that i truly enjoy. those unexpected surreal moments that literally captivate you in sound. to hold your attention like a stone gaze and peak thru to a side of humanity that speaks of light and love.

so, yeahhh..

This shit used to make me feel high before I even ever got high... I used to go on night time drives and vibe to this shit. I also remember getting real angry at an ex girlfriend when she started talking over this song as roots manuva was going in... Probably why I left her ass.

I remember actually, when I first started smoking the herb, cruising in cars with my high school buddies listening to chunes high as fuck. One tune that was great, Pack the Pipe by the Pharcyde; it has lots of trippy sounds. The other was the intro the first tribe album, with the baby crying.

I know it's just weed but we was high as fuck. !!!

No I can see what you mean with these man, especially the Shpongle joint. The introduction and just the little monologue in the beginning is enough to make me gaze above and just wonder for a couple minutes. By the way, beautifully stated. I remember through the songs I'd listen to while trippin; how they'd walk me through almost an entity of pure love and luminous things.

Aye, talking over a beautifully composed piece is cutoff worthy. I remember vibing to some Hubert Laws when I was high as fuck and shawty wouldn't shut up -_- this track definitely feels like an odyssey though, something i'd let roll as I was getting pleasantly lifted. You got great taste fam.

BRUH, weed can get you pretty wrecked and it be out of nowhere sometimes. Before I had work one night, I packed a bowl and I swear on the last hit was when I felt it sort of kick me in the head. I was taking the backroads to work and driving slow as hell taking my sweet ass time listening to Urn by Gambino on repeat. That's always my get high song for some reason, or at least mixed into my phone's playlist

Yah.
Weed is a hell of a drug.

I still smoke for work, but literally take a one hitter or half and I am good.

I read an article today about people advocating taking minute doses of LSD to get more out of the working day. No hallucinations. No ferries signing your name. Just some extra brain activity.

That's how I do my weed during the day.

My barber was telling me some of his high end, business clients take minute hits of heroin to relax at the end of the working week... no shit. These are suit and tie dudes with family's and homes and shit. Pretty crazy, I always thought heroin was just some street level smackie shit. That kind of blew my mind a little bit.

I'm kinda the same with weed now to. It's the same as alcohol for me, there's no point in getting to the 'to far gone' level... spoils the enjoyment.

Interesting takes on it. I never thought of spacing out and shortening my smoke sessions before.

Sounds like I could get more bang for my buck. Funny because I'd always space out the times I'd smoke for about a week or two.

I'm that way with alcohol too. I'd rather be pleasantly tipsy as opposed to blackout drunk. Marathon, not a sprint.

I am so off drinking. I mean it's fun with your friends to get drunk but at the end of it, unless it's a PARTY, drinking is unfulfilling. It's mad expensive too. Feel like shit after....

It's great! Don't get me wrong, but still, if I compare weed and booze it's no comparison.

I only drink for the taste now really and maybe to get a slight buzz with friends, but taste is always the main factor. I never buy cheap shit just to get fucked up. I'm in to my wines, whisky neats and craft beer. Generally I'm a pretty slow drinker unless it's a hot day and there's cold beer around haha.

Return of the Loop Digga!! I've met a couple cats who love throwing on Lord Quas for background noise in the midst of a chill sesh. It's weird, because most of his tracks have that sort of lackadaisical vibe to it. Like its couch-potato music. Best way i could describe it lol

Ed, I feel you man. As I've been getting older I've been learning I have an affinity for only certain drinks and brands. Used to be where I would go to parties and just chug whatever I could get my hands on, but now I'd like to think I'm more refined in that department haha.

When you wanna have everything your way, that's when it can get expensive as hell. I'm just a sophomore in college right now, so I've experienced the cheap $5 parties and sippin 40's with friends. After hanging with my brothers though, I noticed a sort of collection going on with them.

The first time I took acid with a friend it was fanfuckingtastic. Then we smoked a blunt of real strong weed and after that it all went to shit. We couldn't talk to each other, we could barely move and I know I was freaking out. We made it to his computer and started some music.

Shuggie Otis - Inspiration information saved me from a terrible trip

Id highly recommend it
