I'd like to give props to all the folks that dropped something dope this week...my shortlist isn't very short:

So much dope shit to vote on this week...really could be anybody's week to take it.  Guess it comes down to personal taste, and I have to say MNSTRMKK really stood out to me...that bassline, the drum work, the chops.  Just insane.  If you made the not-so-short short-list, props.  The competition was off the hook this week.

Lot of dope beats (even if it felt like I listened to Barney Kessel a bit too many times).

Came down to Mnstrmkk and Billinski this week for me.

Have to go with Billiniski, that entire beat was crazy, but the second half just took it to the next level.

lots of quality stuff this week.  My short list would be way to long, going to go top 3 for me as :  El-R, Scottie Royal, Lexiuss

Really liked the large amount of variation this week, from BPM to feel to sound choice - made it very interesting for sure.

Come on folks...I know it's a lot of tracks, but VOTE.  We should have at least NEAR the same number of votes as tracks...this is sad.

So far it's 10 votes, and 75 tracks submitted.  That's pretty sad.

^honestly dude that's the reason why I only listen to the forum posted beats. People who don't engage on the forums 9/10 times "forget" to vote

It's not surprising though, just look at the disparity in views/replies from past battle/vote threads. Granted there's a bit more discussion in the battle threads, there's still a trend. There always seems to be more discussion and views in the battle threads.

I didn't enter this week knowing I wouldn't get the time to listen and vote...

Mayyyybeeee (just a crazy idea) we implement a new rule (I know, like that'll ever happen, right?)

Where you HAVE to vote the previous week to enter the current week... That means we won't get as many newbies who just post one beat and disappear, they actually have to listen/vote and join the conversation the week before they can even enter. No more time killer microwave beats either etc.

Would be simple to post in the current weeks thread the 'eligible entrant list' just by counting who voted the week before and putting it up.

An extra 15 minutes of ground work to ensure less time wasters seems like a good trade off. Also the amount of beats per week would probably go from around 75 to around 25 and they would probably be higher quality too...

Anyway, crazy thought. Obviously the current system is broke AF

But whatevs.

Peace!
