Yo, peep this new (to me) British shit. It's like a mash up of jungle, hop hop, trip hop, and house all filtered thru some cash money records.

Impressive points at 4, 12... But tits can be blown at 29,30,31m.

Mad decent.

Any of you British fucks know what this about?

didn't listen to the whole mix, but the points you mentioned, and yeah..just sounds like Grime.

the newish kinda bass music from the UK is Footwork, its like a mix of Chicago juke and half time jungle/dnb.

also Phillip D Kick stuff

Well it depends how you look at it, grime really came through from the darker edge of uk garage and 2step, similar tempos and themes but the rougher asthetic, hence the name, so.... 20 years? There is so much crossover and progression in uk urban genres though, it's getting to the point where the names don't mean shit when you're listening to to junglegrimestephousebasstechhop.

Some grime MC's are technically amazing but they just wanna spit about gucci tracksuits and shanking people. I'll try to get on the mac and link some stuff up, iphone not designed for use with my chunky fingers.

Some see Wiley's Eskimo record as the start of grime. The difference with earlier 2-step garage tracks is trivial though.
All these subgenres in UK Bass music cross over in some way or another like Berry Woods said.
What I love about this stuff though is that you can immediately tell if something was made in the UK, typical vibe.

Be sure to check out Dizzee Rascal's Boy in da Corner, classic record.

Yah, that's what I love about UK music in general. They always take something from America me flip it up. Making a new, richer, in many case, sounds brilliant!

And that mc GodsGift is ill. A real jumglist flavour, might ours too.

And Slimzee, hilarious. Dudes just look like they should be hanging ins pub. Love the UK.
