Geez, dunno why you sound so mad.

Dunno why you think i sound mad  :D   Very happy not listening to Decon.    Love my indie labels though.

Not indie, but definitely the best track about labels:

Acting indie when you're a major label is a marketing gimmick, and some do this.   That doesn't make the fact of being indie a gimmick - it's a real thing meaning independent.  You wouldn't say being poor is a gimmick, would ya?

It can be.  I don't recall having said that indie is indisputably synonymous with what a gimmick would be.  The fact is that anything/ everything can be used as a gimmick and in recent years specifically, the term indie and what it entails has been used as a marketing ploy.  It's as simple as that.  Not sure what you're obsessing about here.

Has anyone mentioned Rostrum Records - Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller - yet?   Mac Miller's studio debut reached no. 1 on Billboard's 200 back in 2011 with no major distribution...that's huge

Decon put out some good stuff (Projects from Black Milk, Alchemist, Oh No (Gangrene), Evidence etc etc .

Decon put out a bunch of good shit. Just recently Roc Marciano "Reloaded" & Boldy James/Alchemist "My 1st Chemistry Set". All the stuff you've mentioned as well. They've partnered with Nas now under the Mass Appeal imprint. First releases will be the new Fashawn & Exile album "The Ecology" & El-P & Killer Mike "Run The Jewels 2"...they're not going anywhere.
