HA awesome. the HJO co-sign is legit.

Gotta say, Jonwayne is keeping it classy. Whatever the hell happened between ST and JW we may never know. But to come back swinging on his own with a video and some surprise tracks is a great move.

Although it is only an EP, not an album. 5 songs. maybe if it sells he passes Wolf's test and gets let back on board

Guess stones throw weren't feeling the stay at home dad vibe...

Dudes lost mad weight though.

I find it very interesting that this music video was uploaded to a brand new Youtube account named "Dad Vibe".

Apparently he is broadcasting pirate radio in the heart of Los Angeles tonight until 10.  Playing the new EP.  Wish I lived in LA.

Isn't that illegal?

It's good for sure, but I mean, that chourse is fire, but his first verse could be half the length. He starts going on about flying in private jets, chicks calling him poppy, and signing his autograph... Sloppy.

Fuck that!
Minimalist indeed. Apply it to the lyrics too.

I don't know, from what I took from it, the second half of the verse seems to be another rapper talking to him, like he's mocking rappers who are concerned with those things.

Ehn.
I don't know.
I am losing interest in rap. I mean it can be funky as fuck, but these rappers man, spit so much. So many words, then say nothing in person. To me it gets boring. Once I started listening to the Beatles I started to turn.

Oh well, whatever.

Yeah I'm kinda with magoes... Been enjoying beets and solo producer works a lot more than rap recently. I dunno why, sometimes it feels like the rap element just gives them an excuse to use the same 4 bar loop for 4 minutes and not really change shit up. Can get kind of exhausting to listen to if I'm honest.

No digs at wayne, love his work and I'm a fan. Just maybe was expecting something much more inapt to the usual jonwayne with all this mystery he was generating around the whole "retired" thing. And then he just comes out with more of whats expected, jonwayne/wayniac mondays type stuff... Maybe I shouldn't have placed early expectations on something I never even knew existed up until a couple of weeks ago lol. And i'll still listen and most likely cop the EP to support good music. But I'm not going to piss in pockets and say it's the dopest shit ever when really in my opinion it's just alright...

Yah, for me, I just get tired of rappers quick. Generally because they saying a lot of shit, but ain't saying shit. They ain't doing anything for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love rap, just finding it hard to get down with someone going on and on for the sake of going on and on.

Just bought it. About to give it a spin right now.

You can buy it on Bleep if you're an anti-Apple person like myself.

honestly i'm not sure i even understand what you guys are talking about. you love rap but getting tired of rappers? don't you just hate it when a rapper goes on and on with his rapping? are you searching for the meaning/point of rapping? the ST forums are probably not the best place to be jadedly tired of rap...

I'm liking the new EP a lot! it's like a distilled full-length JW joint. Green Light grew on me overnight. Dirty Dan is top-tier jonwayne as far as I'm concerned, fire on the beat + rhymes, and is the nugget at the middle that holds the whole thing together. JW's piano/soul beats always blow me away.

dude obviously got let go by stones throw and is coming back on his own steam, and the surprise EP isn't mindblowing enough for you? that's silly haha. I'm just glad he's not discouraged from rapping, and definitely look forward to seeing where he's gonna go from here.
