yeah, that's it ^ basically just furthering our genre, it's been such a natural progression so far...hip-hop is mirroring rock & roll's evolution back in the late '60s-early '70s, when shit started getting weird and artists began embracing odd time sigs, crazy percussion patterns, non-traditional instruments, solos....trust me, we'll get there soon.

groups like Shabazz Palaces and Death Grips (RIP) are the most forward-thinking innovators in our industry right now, and usually whatever they do gets slightly over-saturated and incorporated into more mainstream arenas over maybe a few years' time...so if both these groups and Ellison are starting to stray from the standard hip-hop structure already, it's only a matter of time before everyone else starts adapting.

footwork is a great example of where shit's heading, it's been slowly permeating across oceans from Japan to US and vice-versa for quite some time now...so strap in, guys and gals.  frankly, i'm excited to see where things go...all i know is that hip-hop is on its last leg as a catch-all term for the kinda music we all enjoy.  it's already gotten so convoluted with the sub-genres, we're gonna have no choice but to adopt new terminology to differentiate all the different shit that's going on within the umbrella of "hip-hop".  just like rock is a catch-all term for like a good 75% of all the music we hear on radio and television...it's about to be the same thing.

I would like to hear FlyLo do a rap album for an emcee, or a bunch, but in the style of Los Angeles. Like this Mac Miller.
