I vote for Outlier....I like the way you changed the whole vibe of the song.

Sanka's was a close second....

fremont took us in another direction also...nice man

This was another one where I liked all the beats....

this is a dead tough decision!!! Andt88, Ern and Gozilla all did some really cool stuff with the sample (although i wasnt really feeling Andt's drums -- sorry mate) ... but being a man with a healthy interest in MASSIVE DRUMS my vote has to go to:

TREMULANT

i dont usually go for them distorted, El-p kinda beats --- but those drums are absolutely massive!! good work

i didnt mean they were awful or anything --- i cant even program drums so i cant comment. i just thought with your really nice chops of the sample some more fluid or organic drums would have fitted better - rather than your mechanical sounding ones. but then again --- im stuck in the past and only use breakbeats - so what do i know about comtemporary beat making??!!

This was a great round with lots of good tracks from everyone. For me it comes down to MF Ern or G-zilla. I liked Tremulant's entry with his use of distortion but the loop isn't quite right.

If I could give 1st to two entries this would be easy... with Ern's claps and Zilla's snares.

I guess I'm going with G to tha Zilla yeah!

Oh yeah... What happened to Dialog?

this is tough...EVERY entry was very strong.

zilla has that dope synthy bassline thingy going on
88 freaked the crazy quantized/weak snare but ill melody stop-start ish
face flipped the hypnotic pete rock piano loop stylies
outlier prob has the nicest drum sounds, straight 45 style
tremulant just came with the crazy programming completely skipping the beat

if you could take 88's melodies w/ trem's programming & outlier's sounds you'd have some sick ish.

i don't want to pick one but 88, i like the melody, the harmony and change-ups and shit. just step the drums up next time or i take my vote back (funkier and dirtier!!)

face-- i know you say less is more but more might have gotten you my vote this go-round

real nice chopping up of the sample to make it sound original and all that. you've got that down. maybe its just the arrangment...... it took too long for the drums to come in, and when they did they weren't big enough. i need massive drums!!! i'd have no idea how to make a beat on FL, so i'm impressed anyhow.

See I Think That Is My Problem Too

All I Have Are The Stock Drums In Fruity Loops Which Aren't That Great

And Not Only Are the Drums Samples Shitty But I Never Feel Like the Beat Is Hip Hop Enough

And On the Download Tip

MySpace Is For Fassy Boys

Thanks For Taking a Listen Though Guys

Thats All I Want

You Know What I Think My Tournament Idea Would Be Better Suited For Our Contests

I Mean Think About It

Votes Would Be A Lot More Through It Would Bring a More Competitive Edge to The Comp.
And It Would Make Winning That Much More Rewarding

I Mean We Have This Contest And It's Like 4 Different Guys Keep Winning It And The Only Prize is To Pick the Next Sample

It's Comes Off More as An Exhibition Than a Contest

We Need a Tournament

So can you use breakbeats in Fruity Loops? I don't know anything about how Fruity Loops works so please forgive me but that may be an alternative to your drum situation.

i jsut wanna say -- no matter who the winner is --- ive enjoyed this weeks round. it's very rare i actually make any beats anymore--i buy records more to listen to and make silly mixes than to sample. what made this weeks round great was the more interesting sample choice... whoever wins better keep up this quality. find something fucking obscure and wierd to chop.
