STBB 384

Thank you so much for the votes and comments, here is your sample: mp3/aiff

Rules:

1. Make this dope.

2. Your track MUST use some vocals, they MUST NOT be in English.

3. Outside everything (drums/synth/bass/samples): allowed

4. Time limit: 2 minutes

I've started a second thread here where you can link to non-english acapellas you've found, tell us about music what is rad, etc. There is so much good music out there, maybe we can work together a little database.

Thank you again. Being part of this means a lot to me.

BMC

The Fine Print:

I am pleased as punch to announce JoaGymshoe and I worked on a remix together, out today.

Upload your beat to Soundcloud, include "STBB 384" in the title, and POST TO THIS FORUM by Wednesday at Midnight, Pacific time. For easy browsing's sake, you may also add it to the Stones Throw Beat Battle Soundcloud Group.

Vote - by Friday at Midnight, Pacific time

Winner: post new sample, rules, etc - by Saturday at Noon, Pacific time and upload the sample here: http://www.zippyshare.com

break masta,

a win fasta,

a break masta,

a win fasta

congratulations on the win. I've downloaded the sample so I'm like half way to entering this week.

sample is rapetastic. Girls, don't get in the truck with some stranger you just met, no matter how much meth he offers you.

I might struggle for the non-english accapella bit, but I'll do my best. Got a few dance CDs with some random Japanese quotes in acappella I think, if I'm desperate

congratulations again! I love these beat battles, even when I don't get a chance to enter

...Congreazy on the win Beamzy...  dope work on our collab... really happy how it came out! ... Cookie anybody? :P

...So... my 1 year anniversary on STBB is approaching...  333 was my first... (319.. voc collab with Tepaphone)...

...I have decided to put more focus on rapping and singing (taking lessons)... writing is suffering under beatmaking.

... with the collab rap win and the beat win I feel truelly blessed... however

...It's time to pass on the baton to the new guard... such great beatmakers around now!

...Not saying I won't do any at all anymore though ;)

...So yeah... hope to have a nice anniversary flip next week...

...for this week... if anyone wants Dutch vocals on their beat... gimme a shout... I gotsta feel it tho'!

...see ya around... I'll probably go into hefty withdrawal

...peazy J.

I was gonna say don't forget the other thread if you need help, but you're already on it. Nice one.

Ahhhh... well... hrm. I'm inclined to say no just cause the rule is to use a "non-english" acapella. Then again, I'm really interested to see what you're gonna do. So I don't know what the answer is. You could take a risk I suppose.

I assumed wanderlust was talking about the whack ass country sample lol. But now you got me wondering, would it be okay to obscure the sample?

"the sample" does sound he meant "whackass country". but checking to see if it violates the rules sounds like maybe he meant acapella. we're (the whole world) all counting on you all to destroy that country sample to make it you're own, for sure. acapella-wise, should be something that's not in english. chopping up english vocals to not sound like english anymore is a grey area that I'm inclined to frown upon.

i'm frowning here. you can't tell but just trust me.

You won AGAIN!!!! bro I might have to ban you so others can have a chance LOL

let's put it in the rules that you can't vote for me. that way i can still hang out with yall :)

banning would be too sad. i'd be shilling for vitamin water and playing acoustic guitar-driven power pop within a week.

Tough sample this week! Congrats for last weeks win BMC

Mostly just used super tiny cuts from the original sample and a few guitar bit from the intro.

Outside drums, bass & some keys that were on the vocal track:

(Thanks to Cheel for pointing her out in the other thread)

Hahaha this week's going to be tough, rhythm roulette kind of hard. I like the challenge of turning redneck-beer-drinking-pickup-truck music into something dope though.

...also, congratulations on the win Breakmaster! If I win, I'll choose swedish dance band music as sample, see how you like it :D

You can do it. Sorry for the frustration though. After a break things can sound better, if it just sucks then check the second thread for other acapella options, or shoot me an email (breakmastercylinder@gmail.com) if I can help :)

DO IT.

I didn't even realize swedish dance music was missing from my life. now it's all i care about.

I was just in a complaining mood before...haha...you're right that taking a break and coming back can yield some good results.  Gonna take another crack at it in a minute.  Thanks for the encouragement though!  Peace.
