Since it looks like BK's thread of the same name has been removed I'm gonna start a new one.

I've been on a steady regiment of 100 push-ups and at least a mile run every morning when I get back from making the donuts for the past three weeks. Probably gonna add some leg lifts into the mix this coming week and extend the daily run to two miles.

How about y'all?

About to hit the gym.
Been doing it steady for three-four years. Feel great. Look at it as an investment. Not only for now, but later, when I am decrepit, I will be a little less decrepit.

working out sucks somedays. but, the feeling of getting thru a workout that just seems to drag and drag, only to lift those final reps, or jog that last quarter mile is, in-comparable. for me, once that fight or flight activates theres a natural high that makes me feel .. ALIVE

I've been out of shape for awhile, finally got one of these last week http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B002CVU2HG/ -- Goal is to do about 1 hour or so a day at least, combining with better diet/etc will hopefully lead to dropping some lbs

Is that a Mangoes quote GC? Niiice. Its true tho. Bro King is for the children.

And at Mellow, working out makes you feel like a chick on the beach? Not sure you are doing it right.

I don't go crazy at the gym, just enough to maintain my physique. I have like a soccer player/mma fighter build, doesn't require a lot of maintenance just an active lifestyle.

Mostly body weight exercises with some weights. Circuit training, kettle bell, deadlifts, etc. Bike riding and soccer for cardio.

I do a lot of long distance running, I'm out running usually 6 days a week between 5-20 miles per day depending on what event I'm training for.   I've done Ironman races, Triathlons, Marathons, Half Marathons, 10K's... looking to step up to Ultra-Marathon's in the next 12 months too.  Always looking for a new challenge!!

Hahaa yeah some of these Ultra-Marathon's look craaaazy!!    I've been putting in some insanely long training runs lately to try and make the step up to the Ultra's.  Did a 36 mile run at the weekend and gunna step it up to 40 this weekend!!  Keep upping it gradually until I get to Ultra's distance!

couldn't do it. 50 miles on a bike is a long day, but at least I enjoy the downhills. Old skateboarding knees would not let me run more than a few miles.

This is a good thread a needs more replies.

I'm contemplating joining a gym or just sticking to my own routine at home/outside.

I would really like a bike to ride since I live in an area with a lot of stores/shops that are all about a 5-10 minute drive away. I'm not in bad shape now, just need to tone up.

If you have the discipline try to avoid joining a gym. Usually comes with a hefty price tag and long term financial commitment, which should at all costs try to be avoided regardless of the circumstances. That leaves you with more cash in your pocket and you don't feel like a schmuck who's wasting money when you miss a few days.

If I didn't thave the gym, I would be fit. I don't run. Push ups and sit ups only take you so far. Granted, technically, you can get buffed with out a gym but, despite the costs, makes it easier, plus, it has ass galore.

I wonder how many folks drive to the gym to spend 30 mins on a static bike or treadmill.

Get on your bike, go for a run, even a brisk walk, and save cash and the environment while you're at it.

Yah, my buddy just said he wouldn't join the gym next to us, but down the road, since there was parking at that one, despite it being a 5 minute drive over a five minute walk.

The extent of my workout these days is my 20 minute bike commute to work.

I'm about to nill my routine and pimp my ride with a 80cc motor.
