SOOOOOOOO what the fuck is the deal with this set? I forgot about it, but Rolling Stone (...) just put something out about it featuring this track as an example:
Yet another confusing chapter in the posthumous releases of Dilla. I am stumped as to whether these are all instrumentals or not, what with "Filth" containing vocals...though it's called "king of beats" so it'd be pretty weird for it not to be mostly beats. and what the hell is going on with the estate. I thought Egon was creative director of that stuff, why is he not involved at all? I feel like I'm in the dark again. this one is referred to as "the king of beats ma dukes yancey collector's edition", and I guess is...not coming out on Pay Jay? Ma Dukes seems to be the guiding force on this one, I'm fucking confused.
amazingly, that shit is apparently made out of WOOD (peep the hinges), so I'm guessing this "limited" set will be pretty fucking steep
