Long time no visit...hoping to get back into production a bit this summer...

Good to see this place is still alive.

Lol I see tomita records everywhere. They're like ferrante and teicher or Percy faith strings joints at my local thrift spots

I jacked a Zappa 'Apostrophe' LP out of a box that some dude had just donated to the thrift store down the street. I'm a bad bad man.

i nabbed this LP called "Neglected Figures of the 1950's and early 1960's" from the music classroom at my old community college campus, as well as a few others...i still kinda feel bad, but then again i now have a record with some Curtis Counce cuts that are rare as fuck-- so it's a double edged sword.

It's hard not to have sticky fingers around wax sometimes. Especially in a classroom/radio environment. I know even Egon has borrowed quite liberally from some stations around CT.

I've got my sights set on the high school where I work.  Tomorrow is clean-up day, and the old site-tech guy retired.  I'm gonna try to convince the new cat to give me access to the records that are in storage.  The school dates back to 1939, and there's probably rare cuts galore in that dusty-ass room.  Just hope the old tech guy didn't scam 'em all.

I know a few years back the librarian let me borrow this gem from the archives (like new copy):

Damn dude, where you living at?  Around here it's all Herb Alpert, Christmas albums, and low-budget White indie christian singers from the 1970s.

I'm in gilroy I hit up several Goodwill's and salvation army's all around here. On a side note some of my favorite cuts to find are random high school and community college joints. Some of the rarest, most sampleable stuff can be found in there

Looks like the new guy is gonna hit me up over the summer once he has a chance to clear out some of the clutter in that room.  Cant wait to dig there...gonna bring a couple crates.

Yeah man people at estate sales have no fucking clue, a couple weeks back I went to one and they had all these typical Elvis and Beatles records with high price tags. So I went over to the dollar shelf and pulled out a mint copy of Beach Boys Pet Sounds, the 90's mono 180g reissue! Insane.

^ Damn!!!!!

I ned to get my estate hunting back on. About 9 years ago I would get up super early and plan out my route using the newspaper and hit up as many as I could find around town on Fridays. Some of my dopest threads are straight out the closests of dead old guys.

Pizza wasn't ready for pickup, so I hit the thrift store next door...ended up with the following in pristine condition for $1 each:

switch-1981-this_is_my_dream.jpg

Not too bad...nothing mind-blowing, but some solid records.

Hit a fairly new store out by my pad...everything in it is $2...

Had to limit myself to the following to keep from going broke...

Moon+Martin+-+Escape+From+Domination+-+L

carrasco.jpg

Silver+Convention+-+Silver+Convention.jp

And a copy of some Irish album from 1968 called the Orange Walk with the Millar Memorial Flute Band...cant find a pic anywhere online though...saw some sale listing for $100+ though...not a bad $2 investment for each of these...

Yeah man...so far I've listened to the psychoanalysis album (some DOPE fucking samples of dialogue), the Orange Walk album (lots of flute-filled Irish marching songs), and the Climax Blues Band album...

This Climax Blues Band album has some DOPE open drums on it...I'm very impressed so far (about half way through)

The Joe "King" Carrasco was completely worthless...unless you like 1980's new-wave tex-mex mashups...lol

Haha...no kidding, eh?

Just for shits & giggles, I went ahead and made a nice little kit for you old-schoolers from that Climax Blues Band album I found today.

Have at it and add it to your arsenal...
