GUYS.  does this mean mndsgn miyagi's now signed (get it?) onto ST?????????????

if so, that makes me very happy, cause i've been supporting him from the jump...for like 6 years now haha, back when he was still affiliated with like juno akasawa and dudes from the glitch-hop scene.

this is the best week for news i can remember in a while, with the new Death Grips double LP and now this as well...what do you guys think though?

Props to you for being onto MNDSGN from the jump

Breatharian getting pressed, sweet! This is my favorite release of his, was hoping it'd pop up on vinyl eventually.

Noticed something funny at work the other day.

All the times I've heard Bretharian, it's always been on Google Play Music through streaming. When someone else at work was playing it the other day, they were playing their original copy of it from MP3 and I noticed a song that was totally unfamiliar (I've played the thing like 35 times according to Google, was my nightly sleep music for awhile).

The track was this one here  Pranayama -- http://freshselects....track/pranayama which is sampling some YNQ stuff. This project was put out before Mndsgn was on Stones Throw, so thought it was funny that Stones Throw might have done a whole copyright thing to get this removed from the streaming version on Google/Spotify/etc before he was signed to the label. I've noticed that the new vinyl repressing will include this track again as well if the tracklisting here is accurate -- http://www.fatbeats.com/products/mndsgn-breatharian-lp-dl-card

Just some conspiracy theory anyway lol, def curious as to what happened here. If true, it's just odd that they'd even go after dudes like this when they've put out so many records with uncleared stuff.

Anyone peep this project yet –– Helping Hands by Ivan Ave –– produced entirely by Mndsgn ??  Listening right now and it's super dope

EDIT: Just ordered the wax.  His sound is reminiscent of Blu's.  Hadn't listened to any of his work until an hour ago either… "Moves" is incredible.

Digging this, threw it on my Bandcamp wantlist. Funny enough, Blu actually put out a 7" on Jarkata a long time ago that I got -- https://jakartarecor.../album/lemonade

Edit: Oh shit, didn't realize Mndsgn was on the whole thing. Badass, def gonna be picking this one up soon.

can't believe i slept on that Helping Hands project...it came out smack dab in the middle of production for my senior thesis film, Caty's Kid -- so on second thought, i can totally believe it.  i missed everything except Death Grips and Kendrick Lamar this year...i just heard "Panda" and "Work" for the first times when i was at work the other day.  that's how far behind the times i am

Good for you, dude … seriously.  I miss the times when I had no concept of what was going on in the mainstream.  I respect it but a lot of this material is of very little to no substance IMO.

You probably missed this too?

Should be.  There's a track or two from Low Jams that appeared on Helping Hands FYI.

Helping Hands is exactly what i needed right now...my playlist has been starved for hip-hop the past several months.  it's been nothing but late '60s soul and jam bands -- help me STMB, you're my only hope.

Konnichiwa by Skepta … grime

Solid album in my opinion.  First and only grime album I've listened to as of this writing and it really surprised me.  People will say they can't get past the British parlance or even the unusual cadence; I found it really refreshing.  One of my favorite projects of 2016 thus far, without a doubt.  Check it out …

just realized i started this thread haha...anyway, i caved and finally bought the LP for Helping Hands.  it's too good not to purchase -- haven't listened to a hip-hop project this often since Vivians, and now Bandcamp keeps popping up a "please support us for the love of God" screen every time i try to play the tracks i've been listening to.  one of my top 5 albums of the year...and i should know, i've been listening to old '80s punk compilations and fucking jam bands all year
