Thanks for the heads-up, just pre-ordered the shit out of that vinyl.

Didn't even bother to listen first, hopefully I'll have time to listen to the 4-track dl later today.

Vinyl should be a nice surprise for september, I'll probably have half-forgotten about it by then!

Thank all of you for putting me on.  Just started listening to MNDSGN, specifically No Maps.  I'm doing my best to listen to the project in its entirety but at the rate that I'm repeating tracks, not much progress is being made.

Checking out some previous Mndsgn stuff on Google Play, pretty great. Can't wait for the ST album, bummer the vinyl is pushed back so far (Want to pick this up with that Madlib 10")

Especially digging the Breatharian release

Regarding the vinyl: This was put into production pretty late and the first copies we had were rushed ordered. Our copies sold out quickly, but you may still find them at stores which normally stock our LPs. (They're also very heavy records, at least 200g.)

The rest of the vinyl will in the house in about a month from now.

Ah right, I forgot you did have some for sale earlier. I'm down to wait, prob putting in my order for this and Madlib on payday.

The album is really really good. Didn't blow my mind like breatharian did but it is seriously brilliant.

Thats him singing right? Hope he doesn't go the aloe/mayer route.

You mean success in his chosen field? A wider audience for his music and a shot at financial stability doing what he loves?

What do you hope for the artists you don't like?

No I just meant I hope he doesn't lose the experimental creativity like I think both those guys did after a groundbreaking ST release.  I still like them.

Been listening to the record at work (not able to pay 100% attention though, gonna listen later at home). Is Camelblues the only track with vocals? I was digging it, kinda Toro y Moi vibe . Especially like how it goes to that Find a Way / Technova bit.

(figure everyone knows these songs but posting anyway since they are great)

That track and Txt sold me on this for sure, rest is sounding pretty good too

Edit: Guess there were other vocals, all pretty good though! I'd prefer he sticks to mostly instrumental stuff though, that's where he's especially awesome.

Just bought Yawn Zen, riding music tonight! Crazy, the perc samples on Zen are the same as the sample pack I uploaded for Battle 389 a couple weeks ago, crazy coincidence. Looking forward to listening, I've had TXT on repeat for a while now.

Caramelblues has to be my favorite on the tape atm ( - couldn't help but rewrk that track)–––glad I'm not the only feeling the Toro vibes on it. Other than that this release seems a lot more chilled out and polished compared to DSGN's other releases. I really want more visuals tho, the video for TXT is so bugged out and I love it

Really like some of this guy's stuff. He definitely has the talent to stick out in the over-saturated beat scene.

With that said, not to hate, but was anyone else a little disappointed by Yawn Zen? I certainly wasn't expecting him to do the same-old thing, but there's quite a few tracks here that don't really move—just a slow loop with him singing over it. That works sometimes, and has before for ST (still a fan of Koushik's stuff), but here it's often just a couple chords and nothing else.

Still some moments of brilliance, like when "Frugality" opens up.

^ i agree, but i've also found a very meditative quality to the slow-moving beats, and since they're musically solid to begin with it makes it easier to fuck with for me...but i also pretty much only listen to entire albums front to back, and lately i've been just so busy at school that it's been basically my background music -- so maybe in reality the tracks are more boring than i thought.

but still man, can we talk about that Bonafide Beats #55 mix he just released?

idk why, but that loop he made for that weird, autotuned, generic-y sounding "24 hours" acapella track has been stuck in my head all week.  i'm pretty sure i've heard that before, i think it was on that first Breakfast mix (still haven't listened to entire thing).

Its by Knxwledge, from Hexual.Sealings.Prt.7 kind of wierd mix of dope and annoying, well the vocal is kinda grating anyway

Yeah it's a Knx track, and it's great. On the real: He might have something with putting auto tune vocals over dope sample-based beats...

I tried to do it here, but to much lesser quality ha:
