Hey!

Very Quick intro and lame picture of me at bottom:

My name is Jen and I currently reside in Kennesaw, GA (previously it was Appleton, WI)!

Anyways, I haven't posted on this board since 2006. School is out for the summer (woo..no summer classes for me) and I love suggested comeek books, zines, etc. I have tons. Gosh.. even from 2000. Here are my  favorite comic books and artists:

Comic Book Artists:

Lynda Barry
Janelle Hessig

Daniel Clowes

Robert Crumb

Aaron Cometbus

Peter Bagge

Too many to name...

Comic Books/ Zines:

Ride the Wohl Whip Cometbus

Doris

Flying Saucer Attack

Tales of BLARG (Lost my first issue 10 years ago...dang)

We Don't Go to Their Parties (A Gainesville Comic Anthology)

SPX2002

Everything my Milwaukee friends ever put out (sorry very vague..too many to name)

HATE

20th Century Eightball

Caricature

Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron

Yah this may be a lame thread.

Oh yah..I read that there are very few women who post. I am a woman. Not a man. Someone here years ago thought I was a man even with the name "Jen" in my username.

Usually I am not into Scifi/fantasy, but I do try everything at least once. Looks pretty cool. Thanks!

That's what I said, but the story is good enough to by pass all the fantasy bs. What comics are you into then?

Hey! I am mostly into indie(hate using that word as a genre) 'zines and comic books:  Gainesville, Milwaukee, Berkeley, Oakland underground punk rock zines and comic books (Ugh..sorry don't know what else to call them except by their city names...HAH!), Ya dig?

Then...I just like the usual (do these guys even have a "name" or genre?)... Look at above mentioned artists.

What's wrong with me? Hey, I am  just seeing what people are reading these days. I'm putting down the college texts for the summer. Want some new reads, ya dig? I know I write a lot...

Janelle Hessig … Tales of BLARG (Lost my first issue 10 years ago...dang)

I have Janelle to thank/blame for the name "Jank" which I've used for well over a decade. The name comes from a single-page comic we did circa mid 90s.

"Doris" -- I haven't seen one of these in a very long time.

I'm thinking your Bro King. If so, I am fully disgusted, buffalo bill style. If you aren't, please disregard.

Panty Raid was suppose to come to Milwaukee about 8 years ago. Brontez came along and kept yelling "Janelle's in the Dells!!!!" FUNNIEST night ever ( I don't know these people personally...unfortunately never met Janelle in real life--most of the flyers I drew for friend's shows were definitely inspired by her) ! Hmmm...but yes....JJ...I got a stack of ancient Doris zines just waiting for me to dig through.

Whose to say he doesn't have another.
Anyhow, just a very odd coincedence. He blows up, she shows up.

Anyhow, all good. I encourage her to be here, lord knows the ladies are scarce in these parts.
Just sayin.
Patiently waiting for evidence.

To Jen, if that's really who you are, please dont let me skepticism bother you, or take you from these boards, lord knows there are a lot of dudes on here and Miss Stress can't satisfy them all.

Anyhow, just my quiet observation.
I do t really read these types of zines etc.
So, quietly removing myself from the convo.

To JJ: I knew your name sounded familiar. Wasn't it mentioned in "Tales of Blarg" ? Wait...actually, weren't you drawn in it? You were drawn in something.

Can't put my finger on it.

Mangoes...you remind me of a friend. :)

Not having a comic talk, with out any mention of David Mack , and Grant Morrison, and Dave Mckean. Morrison, is the god of story telling, if you have never read Doom Patrol, or The Invisibles, your missing out.
