Stoney Jackson is The Father, 360 Degree Waves is The Son, and Good To Be Home is The Holy Ghost.

got this album for Christmas and reckon it could have been a classic if it was mixed and mastered better. wonder how it'll hold up in a year or two.

I lije the sound aesthetic on this. Gives it a raw, lo-fi vibe. Like it was made in a basement.

When Black Moon's Enter Da Stage came out I remember people saying it was mixed poorly. But it is one of the rawest hip hop albums of all time.

That Blu album sounds nice played on cassette with cheap speakers.

I dig the lo-fi sound, but not when it interferes with my ability to understand the lyrics, or even hear the beat clearly (the track Brown Sugar was kinda ugh). I agree that yeah it sounds good in the car, but with a pair of good cans I'd like to have higher quality sound. You can keep it raw with better quality audio. Still a dope album, The Return and Bobby Brown are major tunes, I love the posse cut too

That's why I enjoy listening to the vinyl version because I can adjust levels through my mixer and have sound as clean as I can get it.

Album still badass, I don't mind the mixing myself but can see how some might not like it as much (Forgot where I heard the comparison, but it sounds like they tried to go for Madlib style low-fi/raw  sound/aesthetic but ended up a bit more sloppy). Really makes me wish Madlib & Blu would do a full album together, wonder when that Madlib/Blu/MED record will be out.

Def my favorites on this one, plus Dre Day

I'm waiting on that Madlib/Blu record too. Burgundy Whip was pretty dope.

I remember someone saying MED told them it'd be dropped this year. Burgundy Whip was such a good tune

There was supposedly drama on the Bad Neighbor Tour (MED/Blu) and it eventually just became a Blu tour. After hearing that my skepticism for a full length ever dropping increased dramatically.

Forgot about that, hopefully Blu/Madlib will do a record eventually if that is the case.

I had no idea about bad blood between Med/Blu but that's pretty shit. If that did happen I can't see the Madlib making a record with Blu, he's been tight with Med forever.

I got a digital copy of the whole Jesus album, apart from the title track that really does sound like it was recorded and mixed on an iphone or a potato or something. Some good jams tho

Never heard it, I had always assumed it was Blu just reusing old Madlib beats. I'm listening to it now though and I'm surprised to hear what I think are mostly original beats. Also looks like Burgundy Whip + Belly Full was on this tape before it appeared on that 12", interesting. Mix is fucking awful though, bummer it didn't get mastered put out as an LP

That UCLA sounds like garbage. It sounds like blu recorded all his vocals on his bus rides to work, on a Nokia phone, through a pillow.

forgot completely about that other 12"! and oh my lord yes.

and honestly, relistening to it now there is no fronting on The Buzz instrumental either, that track is nuts. he's channeling dilla a bit methinks. but yeah belly full i must have played a million times by now.  A lot of top tier madlib at play on this project, I'd be psyched for an instrumental only version of this album that will sadly probably never arrive...? more madlib beat tape LPs I say.

I forgot they are technically through Bang Ya Head, though they've got the fucking sweet Jank treatment reserved for rappcats/ST. I've really gotta grab these on wax, both look dope. But i'd imagine if MED fell out with blu and it's on Bang Ya Head... pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point.

JJ might be able to clarify about any possible future though...?
