Thanks for all the love! Still think I'm in a comatose state somewhere imagining this. This board is so dope , haven't been able to find a similar collective of musicians since Justus League's The Lawn. Great week all around from everyone again.

For this week's sample, one of my favorite songs to zone out to. Now I want to hear a bunch of fresh beats come out of it!

- Make a beat using the sample and follow the production rules

- Upload your beat to the sound cloud STBB group AND in this topic!

- Production rules :

1. 2:00 minute or so limit, honestly I could care less how long your beat is as long as it's awesome. (Shouldn't be longer than. "The Sermon" however which is about 20 minutes )
2. Inside and outside and upside and downside drums and bass - allowed
3. keys/synths, other instruments - I implore you!
4. cuts/scratches - of course
5. Acapellas- sure

Special rule: you must use another sample from a different genre. At least one chop please (the more, the better)! You can use other additional Jazz samples, but one of the additional chops must be outside the Jazz genre.

Jimmy Smith- "Flamingo"

So basically if you some how incorporate Radiohead's. "My Iron Lung" opening riff with this sample I will more than likely vote for you. Ok I'm far away from home in a strange cold land named Rhode Island and a little drunk typing this on my phone so hopefully this all works out!

Radiohead is prime for sampling IMO

They are more hip hop than a lot of hip hoppers

also the Beatles are hip hop.

anyway enough of my rambling

Hey! I haven't been here in a while. Great to see these are still rolling. I always learned so much from here and had a blast at the same time. Here is my small contribution.

Sorry for the cracks and dust! I played this record (Jimmy 's greatest hits!) to death in college, lot of long nights studying with it on repeat. Great flips so far, really enjoyed them, waiting for that Radiohead...

The embedding option isn't working for me, but here's a link to mine. I quite like the way it turned out, personally. The other sample is Julius Brockington's "Forty Nine Reasons."

To say it has been awhile since I posted would be an understatement.  Last one I entered was #343.....  first track I've finished in a long time - creative drought.

Extra samples from Wilson Pickett including drums, sax and a horn.

Enjoy.
