I think at night all the daily left-brained fuss goes away, serious busy people gone sleep freeing the unconcious ocean to be easily accessible for everyone to drink ideas from, darkness makes it even deeper and more mysteious...People see dreams, we transform our dreams into sounds.

That's how I explained to myself my past-midnight inspiration years ago. :)

right now I work 24hour shifts and making beats at night means dying the next 24hours, so yea, I'm gonna accede to the morning larks.

Damn, that was really poetic man. I didn't know that individuals looked at it from that point of view because I do from time to time. It's amazing that you describe it that way. Deep.  :D

Sometimes I think about music (whether it's beats or rhymes) and my thoughts, emotions, ideas, etc. on a deep level. It's weird but I think that's just something creative people do.

You know it's addicting when you get out of bed in the middle of the night because you got a rhythm in your head and got to get it looped onto tape.

I can't understand how anyone can make music when they're high. Everytime I've ever been, high, I can't even process anything, let alone even begin to think about making music. Maybe I'm just a rook.

A long time ago, I'd get stoned and immediately I would start to hear a symphony filling up in my head. It was beautiful, and then I'd sit down and make some funky ass beats. But then after a couple of days of doing this, I'd get too tolerant and have to smoke way more. So one time I tried to combat my tolerance by smoking 2-3 times as much as usual. I ended up staring at the keys like a zombie for 10 minutes. Actually it could have been 10 seconds, or half an hour for all I know.. Shit was crazy. I guess it's all in how much you smoke haha

I used to be a night owl and make beats at night, now I make em during the day. Once I found myself only getting 4-5 hours of sleep a day on average, I decided it was time to adjust my sleep schedule.

I used to be a nightowl as well! I always felt that at night everything was slowed down, so I could get into the mood and my own little world pretty quickly. I realized it's a lot more euphoric when I make beats during the day. I get up at like 8 in the morning now and that's when I work on beats.

I was kicking back this evening and just thought about if time affects the mood to create or not. For me, I love creating beats and working on new joints at night. preferably when it's real late, that's when i love working on some new ish! I wanted to see from you guys though; what time of day do you love working on music or when is it that you feel most in the zone? Early morning? Afternoon? Evening? Late Night?

Late Nights when I have alot on my mind...

I usually work on beats at night too, like after dinner till 3am.

Not sure if it's a conscious thing or if it's just the way life and work forces me to.

Something I noticed is that almost every saturday I tell myself: "alright, tomorrow morning you just take a coffee, a lil' wake-n-bake and make beats for the whole day" but the next day I always end up messing around on soundcloud/youtube till like 2pm before I even turn on the MPC...
