Anyone check this album out yet? Easily my favorite of the year so far. Full stream from Rhymesayers is over here too https://soundcloud.c...ord-steppington

I've always thought Alchemist was nice, but ever since that first Gangrene record it has seemed like everything he touches is gold now (imo, I know some folks not too big on him). I think Oh No def influenced his more recent sound. Evidence is great as always on the record too. 2 minutes into Swimteam Rastas is my favorite lol

Really liked this vid, track didn't end up making it on album (It's on there, my Google Music is just dumb lol)

Well yeah lol - I do think it'll hold up on the higher end of my favorites though, really solid release imo.

Yeah this is a sick album full stop listening to Buzzing Away right now as I write this, like this reinvented Alchemist, love the way he uses the stereo field, and where he places sounds.

That Step Masters track is on the album... it's this 'Ron Carter' track that isn't on the album...

I've been bumping the promo copy of this album for about 6 weeks now, shit is crazy!! Easily the best ALC produced project out of all his recent collabs. The two iTunes bonus tracks dropped yesterday too, another two dope beats!!

And yeah, Oh No defs had an influence on ALC's direction since the Gangrene collabs. ALC's shit has became alot more experimental. Just listen to the 'Banging Sound' beat or the 'Legendary Mesh' beat, ALC had never really made anything remotely out there like that prior to Gangrene.

Peace!

You're right, my bad! What happened is that the Step Masters track became available earlier which I added to my Google Music, then I uploaded whole album to Google Music and the order of tracks got messed up lol

Fantastic album...........and as always Alch has been releasing more dope shit in the last couple years than any producer, I don't wanna hear it (Albert Einstein, RR, Rare Chand, Cutting Room Floor Pt 3 still get super rotation a lot).

Seems like he's gaining momentum with every release. Takes an ok MC like evidence, makes him somewhat listenable just with his tracks alone.

Dare I say it?

wait for it...

Lib needs to catch up.

I'll admit that the Alchemist has been killing it and he is defiantly one of my favorite producers right now, but c'mon son, Alch hasn't even touched the surface of libs discography. I mean I have 21 albums under madlibs name on my iPod not to mention the YNQ stuff.

I feel like Alchemist just recently started becoming prolific while Madlib has pretty much always been that way. Obviously it's not a competition, but I tend to think that Madlib's discography is a bit larger than I think.

I totally agree that Alan has had a great couple years but in all honesty this is his playing catch up to Otis. The Madlib's run from 02-08 crowned him champion for years to come. Until someone can top his discography the man can sit back and put his feet up.

I picked up the instrumentals on wax yesterday. Haven't heard the vocal version yet but Alan definitely killed these beats.

Yeah, before Gutter Water dropped I wasn't really feeling him; mostly didn't like him as a rapper. I really do see some major growth in style over the last several years and I certainly can't knock dudes non-stop hustle.
