I rip everything to MP3 and let itunes organize my shit... then I create playlists for drum break records, samples, shit records, and the like

I just throw everything on the shelf (I only have like one shelf at this point). It's not organized but I wish I had done it by digs. I usually remember when and where I got everything but I don't have it sorted that way so it bothers me that I mixed my first dig with like my last and stuff. But I'm too lazy to fix it.

I have all my personal stuff (not store related) in 3 separate Ikea Expedits.  Nothing too sub genre specific.... Soul/Funk... Jazz.... Hardcore/Punk/Metal.... Hip Hop.... Soundtracks.... etc.

Each section is broken down into LP or singles.  First name alphabetized.

Instead of having a separate section for breaks/samples I jot sample info on sticky notes and put them on the LP.

After accumulating so many records it seems counter productive to constantly find a 'better' organization way and instead just roll with the system that you're already used to.
